“A Visit From Saint Nicholas” at the Carnegie

As part of the Albany Parlor Tour December 14, the Albany Public Library Foundation supplemented the seasonal decorations at the Carnegie with a fire in the south fireplace, hot spiced cider for all, and “A Visit From Saint Nicholas”, better known as “The Night Before Christmas.”

The famous poem, written by Clement Moore in 1823, was read a dozen or more times during the afternoon by three expert readers, Joe McQuillin, Michael Winder, and Paul Jacobs, seated comfortably in a rocking chair before the fire.

A large crowd of visitors came to enjoy the beauty of the Carnegie Library, the excellence of the reading, the warmth of the fire (on a rather cold day), and the good taste of the hot spiced cider.
