Cheerful Music of the Season Fills the Carnegie

On December 17 and again on December 18, groups of Albany Youth Orchestra strings students filled the Carnegie with cheerful music of the season.
The Albany Public Library Foundation coordinated the concerts on the stage of the children’s area of the library. Parents and supporters of the students filed the room to capacity both times to enjoy the music and cheer the youngsters on.
The concerts were the first time the youngsters performed on a real stage and for many parents it was an opportunity to check out the Carnegie – and check out some books.
The concerts fit well with the holiday décor the Foundation had provided. When the branch re-opens after New Year, you may still be able to hear echoes of the enthusiastic violins and cellos.
